We are committed to preventing substance use and improving mental health for our youth by reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors through evidence-based programs and strategies, while providing access to prevention tools & resources to all We are a coalition of caring individuals from all domains of community who work together toward a vision of being a welcoming community that empowers youth and families by providing opportunities to build skills in order to become healthy, self-reliant, compassionate, future citizens and leaders.

A free mental health screening event for preschool & elementary youth will be held on November 18th in Layton.

The screening is a quick, confidential way to check in with a therapist about your child’s social and emotional needs. It can help start a conversation that leads to support, tools to use at home, and/or additional resources as needed.

Register online before Nov. 13th at this link: dbhutah.org/screening/

What to expect from this event:
•Complete a screening questionnaire online

•Parent and child meet with a mental health provider at Davis Behavioral Health in Layton

• Learn about and connect with community resources

Community is built when we show up for one another, and we are so incredibly grateful to have been just a small part of the Nourish the Service event this year!

We were truly just a drop in the bucket compared to the incredible community that showed up, but seeing everyone come together to support and uplift our local military families was inspiring.

From packing meal kits to playing games and sharing laughs, it’s a beautiful reminder of what happens when a community unites with a shared purpose.

A massive thank you to Blue Star Families of Utah for inviting us to participate in this wonderful initiative. It takes a village, and we are honored to stand alongside such amazing partners and volunteers.

This fall students in 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grades will have the opportunity to take the Utah Student Health and Risk Prevention (SHARP) Survey. Look for the consent forms in your youths back to school forms.

This information gives our schools, families, and community partners a clearer picture of what’s happening with our youth—and helps us make data-informed decisions about how to best support them.

Stronger Families Start With Connection

Our next Strengthening Families class is coming up!

This 7-week program is designed for families with youth ages 10–14 and gives parents and caregivers practical tools to:

✨ Strengthen family communication
✨ Build stronger relationships
✨ Set clear expectations and boundaries
✨ Help kids develop skills for handling stress and making healthy choices
✨ Create more opportunities for family connection

Because parenting isn’t about being perfect—it’s about building the skills and connection that help our kids thrive.
