Now, more than ever we need kindness.

Let’s spread kindness…… Pay It Forward and show appreciation for people who make a difference in your life. You never know, it could be just what they need to get through the day.

So many roadside flower stands. Stop by, support our farmers and take a friend or family member a smile to make their day special. Bright cheery colors and arrangements you just can’t resist!

It feels good to take a minute and appreciate your friends, family, co-worker, service employees, volunteers, ANYONE! You never know what someone is going through - spread kindness!

Please join the Walpack Historical Society on Sunday, August 9th, 2026 from 12 pm - 3 pm for tours of the Walpack Center Schoolhouse, Church, barn, Rosenkrans Museum, General Store and Post Office and the Van Campen Inn.

Are you interested in exploring more of Walpack when you visit?

🥾 Hike the Military Trail (pamphlets are available at the Rosenkrans Museum and the Van Campen Inn). You can also hike the Walpack Loop, which has access points off the Military Trail. Please note, the Military Trail has moderate inclines.

➡️ Visit the Black/Enslaved Persons Cemetery (located off the Military Trail)

➡️ Visit the site of Fort Johns / Headquarters / Fort Shapanack (located off the Military Trail)

➡️ Visit Col. John Rosenkrans’ Memorial (located on the side of Old Mine Road (dirt) a short distance from the Van Campen Inn)

➡️ Visit Shapanack Cemetery (located up the path from Col. Rosenkrans’ Memorial)

🥾 Hike to Buttermilk Falls (vehicles must access via Struble Road). Buttermilk Falls is approximately 2.5 miles from Walpack Center if you chose to hike there.

The Sandyston-Walpack Education Foundation is proud to announce Lauren Salokas as the recipient of the 2026 Johnny Sebecke Spirit & Service Scholarship.

Lauren embodies the qualities that Johnny was known for: kindness, perseverance, leadership, and a commitment to serving others. Through her dedication to her school, community, and personal growth, Lauren has demonstrated the character and spirit this scholarship was created to recognize.

Please join us in congratulating Lauren on this well-deserved achievement. We wish her continued success as she begins the next chapter of her educational journey!

Please come to Spring Fest at the Sandyston Walpack School this Sun, May 17 from 12-4. Peter’s Valley crafters and demonstrations, vendors, crafts for kids, pickleball lessons, bouncy house, food truck, touch the trucks(police, fire truck, ambulance) alumni tours of the school and more! Fun for all ages!
