For more than 40 years, Ron Nance has been building more than homes; he’s been helping families create a legacy. As the visionary behind The Oaks Development Company, Ron transformed a dream into one of Lawton’s premier master-planned communities, including Oak Pointe, Oak Ridge, and The Bluffs at Oak Ridge Lake.

The Oaks is known for quality, luxury, and service. Specializing in custom and spec homes, Ron and his team combine transitional luxury design with practical features for modern living, including open kitchens, connected living spaces, and thoughtful layouts designed to stand the test of time. Homeowners often praise the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and personalized experience they receive throughout the building process.

A true family business, Ron’s daughter, Whitney Nance Perry, joined the company in 2008 after graduating from the University of Oklahoma, just as development of The Oaks was taking shape. As a licensed Real Estate Broker, Whitney enjoys helping families find the perfect move-in-ready home or design a custom home from the ground up. Many of those buyers have become lifelong friends, and Whitney is proud to call The Oaks home, where she and her family live among the community they’ve helped create.

Ron’s wife, Susan, a retired Lawton Public Schools teacher, also assists with the family business while dedicating her time to several local charities.

For Ron, the most rewarding part of building is helping families create the home they’ve always envisioned, whether they’re raising children or enjoying retirement. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, cheering on the OKC Thunder, and raising rare Black Bison that roam the land surrounding The Oaks.

A proud Lawton native, Ron believes building local means investing in the future of his hometown. Through his service as Past President of the Oklahoma State Home Builders Association and the Lawton Economic Development Authority, he has remained committed to strengthening both the homebuilding industry and the Lawton-Fort Sill community.
