Blue Moon Productions

Blue Moon Productions Blue Moon Productions is a non-profit organization excelling in producing cutting-edge and one-act plays. Blue Moon Productions, Inc.

A little over thirteen years ago, a small group of actors was looking for a venue to present off-beat, unique types of theatre experiences and decided to form a new company in Lawton, Oklahoma to offer genres not currently performed in the area. Named from phrase "once in a blue moon," the company hoped to embody just what that phrase meant; a rare and special event. Our main objective is to compl

iment the other wonderful arts and entertainment companies in the local communities, and to enhance the arts in Southwest Oklahoma. Blue Moon Productions excels in presenting cutting-edge plays and one act programs, the kind of which you might see in larger cities such as Boston, Chicago, and Dallas. is a non-profit organization staffed by a small group of dedicated volunteers.

This Team Starkid original musical comedy follows a hopeful yet completely unprepared family of five's adventure as they make the great trek down the Oregon Trail to Willamette Valley in hopes of finding a better life. Actor will also play a variety of bit parts.

Daughter: Female. Plays Teenager. Any race. Mezzo-soprano. Love hungry and focused daughter coming to age of adulthood. Actor will also play a variety of bit parts.

Son: Female (could be male). Plays 7 years old* . Soprano. Idolizes his father and just trying to figure out the new world of the trail that he's now found himself in.

Grandpa/Cletus Jones: Male. Any age range. Baritone. As Grandpa, he may be losing his wits, or maybe they've been gone for years. Cletus Jones is the sidekick to the notorious "The Bandit King" that tries to strike fear into the parties traveling down the trail.

The Bandit King, Ox, and everyone else: Male. 20-40s. Tenor/Baritone. This part is an equivalent to running a marathon of characters. Covers every significant "NPC" in the show.
