Please open the Drought Monitor to see how dry we are here despite incoming rain in the forecast. Soil in the parking area is VERY DRY, as we’ve had less than 1” rain in the last 60 days. Northwest Comanche County is in Exceptional Drought - the highest category! THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT FOR MEERS VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT AS WE FACE EXTEME CONDITIONS FOR WILDFIRES!!!

Day of registration will begin at 6:00am on Saturday, May 23 at the Meers Fire Station, 26362 State Highway 115, Lawton, OK , 73507.

The quilt that was handmade by Peggy Coe, a wonderful and generous Meers Fire Department supporter, is finished!!!!

It is now on full display at All America Bank at 20477 St. Hwy. 49, close to the I-44/Hwy. 49 intersection. The bank is between Sonic and Burger King.

Please drop in to see the quilt. You can purchase raffle tickets, $5 each, for this beauty. The drawing will be help on Saturday, May 23 right before the start of the Tour de Meers about 7:30am, at the Meers Fire Station.

3 weeks from today, May 23, 2026, the 36th annual Tour de Meers Bicycle Ride will be held. This is the one and only fundraiser for the Meers Volunteer Fire Department, located in beautiful SW Oklahoma in site of the Wichita Mountains, Meers, Oklahoma.

On-site registration begins at 6:00am on Saturday, May 23. The ride begins at 7:30am.

Once again this year, right before the Tour de Meers kicks off, we are raffling another one of a kind, handmade quilt, made by good friend of the Meers Fire Department, Peggy Coe. This will be the 3rd year that Peggy has blessed us with a beautiful quilt.

Raffle tickets are $5.00 and you can purchase a ticket or tickets at www.bikereg.com. We also will be selling tickets 5-7pm on Friday, May 22 at the Meers Fire station and on Saturday, May 23, during on-site registration, which begins at 6:00am.
