We are proud to receive the STAR Award from OBI and for the opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the life-saving blood supply. ❤️

We are fortunate to have a team that recognizes the importance of hosting and supporting life-saving blood drives. Our Blood Institute in Lawton recognized our efforts with a STAR Award. ⭐

Over our 21-year partnership with OBI, we have hosted 119 blood drives that have enabled 4,257 life-saving procedures. We are also among the first to host monthly platelet drives and now have a partnership between OBI and our Foundation through Donable Cares.

OBI calls it a “win-win” for the community by supporting the health of the blood supply and giving back to the Foundation. Foundation Director, Sandy Foster, was recognized her leadership to elevate these efforts.

And our very own Sandy Tugmon was recognized not only as the Drive Champion for leading a blood drive that exceeded the donor goal by 14 units, but she was also named the Top Donor! She made 32 personal donations totaling more than four gallons.

Throwback Thursday: Here is the ribbon cutting ceremony from when the Starlight Unit first opened in 2005. We are proud to have such a caring and supportive community, then and now. ❤️

Madison Good was severely injured when she was 10 years old. The hospital didn't have the Starlight Unit then, but she was the first to cut the ribbon when it opened. It has grown ever since and now we are celebrating 20 years of community ties and making sure children in Southwest Oklahoma have the care they need.
