💰 You could earn a cash reward—no names, no court. In 1979, a citizen of the Lawton community came to the police station and brought with him a newspaper from Lubbock, Texas. Inside that paper was an article where the Lubbock Police Department was “Spotlighting the Crime of the Week”. Assistant Chief of Police, Jack Partin, s

tarted researching what Crime Stoppers was and if it would be worthwhile for the Lawton community. Partin contacted the founder of the Crime Stoppers program out of Albuquerque, New Mexico and obtained further information. After speaking with the Chief of Police and Mr. Wayne Gilley, longtime mayor of Lawton, the support needed to make the program successful was found. Bill Bentley of the Lawton Constitution presented the first check to start paying rewards. Due to this donation, Crime Line of Lawton was formed. In 1981, Crime Line of Lawton changed its’ name to Crime Stoppers of Lawton and was incorporated in May of 1981 with the Secretary of the State of Oklahoma. In 1991, Drug Busters of S.W. Oklahoma was formed and incorporated also.

Crime Stoppers of Southwest Oklahoma is saddened by the recent passing of retired Lawton Assistant Police Chief Jack Partin.

Assistant Chief Partin played an instrumental role in bringing the Crime Stoppers program to the Lawton Police Department in 1979, helping establish a partnership between law enforcement and the community that continues to make a difference today.

His leadership, vision, and commitment to public safety helped lay the foundation for what Crime Stoppers of Southwest Oklahoma has become.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Partin family, his friends, and the entire law enforcement community.

Thank you, Assistant Chief Partin, for your service and for helping make Crime Stoppers a lasting part of our community. Your legacy will not be forgotten.

Duncan Police Detectives need your help! Sometime between July 30, 2026, at approximately 1800 hours and July 31, 2026, at approximately 0530 hours a burglary was committed at Minson’s Veterinary Hospital, located at 1411 W Main. During the burglary, a mini fridge, Several bags of dog food, Leashes,Flea and tick chewables, Heart wormer, Possibly some vaccines, a computer used for animal dental X-rays, and most importantly 3 small dogs and 2 pet cremations. Let’s help get these pups back home to their families and the cremations back so their families can honor their family members lives.
