Earlier, we highlighted about the reopening of the Native American Galley at the Landmark this Saturday (June 13). Why not take in another event during your visit.

It's time for the monthly firing demo at the Field Artillery Museum. This week the staff will highlight the Revolutionary War muzzleloading cannon, complete with a live fire, and the weapons, uniforms and equipment of the Continental soldier. Come learn how the cannon, the ammunition and its implements worked to help gain our freedom.

There will be three hourly demo's beginning at 10:00 AM. Each demo runs for about 15 minutes. Come see the "grasshopper" in action. It gained that nickname because they rountinely hopped when fired.

We want to start highlighting some of the unique historical artifacts in each of the facilities as described by our great curators. Our hope is this may us spread the word on the many special things people can see when they visit.

Apologize for the late notification but better late than not at all. Tomorrow morning (April 10) there will be a pre-Civil War cannon section reenactment presented by the Field Artillery Museum. There will be three presentations beginning at 10, 11 and 12 AM. Come learn about this period of field artillery history.
