If Beyond “Be Careful” has been sitting on your calendar, your screenshot folder, or your “I need to register for that” list, this is your reminder.

Join Archer PTSA for two hours focused on helping our teens navigate real life with more knowledge, awareness, and confidence.

Parents and students will begin in separate sessions so we can talk honestly about what each group needs to know.

Then we’re bringing everyone together for hands-on self-defense and situational awareness training.

This isn’t about teaching teens to be afraid of the world.

It’s about helping them know what to do when Mom, Dad, Grandma, Coach, or another trusted adult isn’t standing right beside them.

Then this workshop is for your family.

High school comes with more independence, and independence brings situations our teens have to learn how to navigate without us standing beside them.

Beyond “Be Careful” is about preparing them BEFORE they need the information.

Consent.
Healthy relationships.
Party safety.
Digital safety.
Recognizing red flags.
Helping a friend in trouble.
Knowing when to leave.
Knowing when to call for help.
Physical self-defense.

And parents, we have a session for YOU too.

You’ll get practical information to help you have better conversations, create safety plans, understand legal considerations, recognize concerning trends, and know where to turn when you need support.

Your teen gets invited to a party.

Someone brings alcohol.
A fight breaks out.
A friend wants to leave but doesn’t have a ride.
Someone records something that should never be posted.
A dating situation crosses a boundary.
Your teen knows something feels wrong, but doesn’t know what to do next.

“Be careful” can’t cover all of that.

On Tuesday, September 22, Archer PTSA is creating space for students AND parents to learn how to navigate situations teens are actually facing.

Students will have their own session focused on consent, relationships, parties, digital safety, red flags, bystander awareness, and making safer decisions when things get complicated.

Parents and caregivers will have a separate conversation about teen trends, Georgia laws, safety planning, monitoring without spying, and what resources are available when you need more support.

Then we come together for hands-on self-defense and situational awareness training.

“Be careful.”
“Make good choices.”
“Call me if you need me.”

We say these things because we want our teens to be safe. But what happens when they actually find themselves in a situation they weren’t prepared for?

On September 22, Archer PTSA is bringing parents and students together for Beyond “Be Careful”: Consent, Safety & Self-Defense.

Students and parents will begin in separate sessions so we can have honest, age-appropriate conversations about the things teens are navigating right now.

Students will learn about consent, dating and relationship safety, parties, digital safety, recognizing red flags, bystander awareness, and what to do when a situation doesn’t feel right.

Parents and caregivers will learn about teen safety trends, Georgia laws, talking about consent, monitoring without spying, emergency planning, and resources available when you need additional support.

Then we’ll come together for hands-on self-defense and situational awareness training.

Got a teen who just started high school? 👀

Or maybe they're dating, going to parties, spending more time out with friends, and navigating more independence?

Then Beyond "Be Careful": Consent, Safety & Self-Defense was created with your family in mind.

Because consent isn't only a conversation about dating or s*x.

As our teens gain independence, they need to understand boundaries, decision-making, personal safety, healthy relationships, peer pressure, what to do when something feels wrong, and how their choices can carry real consequences.

And parents need tools for these conversations too.

On September 22, Archer PTSA is bringing parents and students together for an honest, age-appropriate conversation featuring:

⚖️ Legal experts who can help families understand rights, responsibilities, and consequences

❤️‍🩹 Licensed counselors who can speak to boundaries, communication, relationships, and emotional safety

👨‍👩‍👧 A parent panel sharing real experiences and lessons from raising teens

🥋 Practical self-defense and personal safety education

You can tell your teenager to "be careful."

We want to help them understand what being careful actually looks like.
