Get Ready Gwinnett

Get Ready Gwinnett This is a project that was created by the Gwinnett Coalition on Emergency Preparedness.

The Gwinnett Emergency Preparedness Committee of the Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Services. Raising awareness for disaster preparedness issues and to provide emergency resources and information to people that are disabled, elderly, and others with access and functional needs. Our goal was to prepare the residents of Gwinnett County for a natural disaster or emergency situation and to fu

nction as a resource to services, facilities, and programs that serve these vulnerable populations. Now, as a result of Hurricane Irma (2017) it serves as a continuing resource to get information pre/during/post inclement weather to keep the community and its families safe.

Our Story

The Gwinnett County Emergency Preparedness Committee provided a forum for emergency management agencies, first responders, access & functional needs community organization representatives and the public to work together to understand, identify, and develop plans to be added to emergency management design that would enhance emergency preparedness/disaster recovery plans for first responders and the community that it serves. The page was reactivated by volunteers in September 2017 as a result of Hurricane Irma's visit and community's active desire (and noted visits during the storm) to continue to have accessible information pre/during/post inclement weather. - Thank you all!
