Gwinnett Pro Bono Project

Gwinnett Pro Bono Project The Gwinnett Pro Bono Project matches qualified, caring attorneys with pre-screened low income clients facing legal problems in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

The Atlanta Legal Aid Society has represented Atlanta's poor in civil legal cases since 1924. Our work helps our clients deal with some of life's most basic needs -- a safe home, enough food to eat, a decent education, protection against fraud, and personal safety. Our clients come from Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett Counties in Georgia.

Believe it or not, it is that time of year again!

Thank you for your interest last year in sponsoring our clients for the holidays! We are back!!

The clients participating are all families who have been assisted by one or more of Legal Aid offices or projects with a legal issue related to family stability, such as housing, education, income stability, family law, or health care. These families are living at or below 150% of the federal poverty line and are in need of assistance in purchasing gifts for the holidays.

We helped around 150 families in 2021; this year, we expect that the need and number to rise significantly.

Please fill out the information below to be matched with a family. We are requesting that you consider spending about $125 per family member. Once you are matched, we will email you the family's wish list along with their contact information. We ask that you deliver the gifts by December 23rd. Gifts can be delivered personally, via courier, or even by Target shoppers or Amazon. We will provide a list of families from which you may choose before Thanksgiving along with an electronic wish list. You can reach out to Angie Tacker at [email protected] with questions.

Due to the pandemic and staffing limitations and constraints, we cannot accept or deliver gifts this year.

Please note that Legal Aid cannot accept donations for this project or serve as a pass through. Since these gifts must be given directly to the family, we cannot provide tax receipts. We also cannot guarantee all special requests can be fulfilled.
