This idea began when my Uncle was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and medical expenses began sky rocketing. The immediate family quickly started suggesting ideas to help pay for some of the expenses. This past summer my business partner and friend, Krystal Stickler, and I started running 5K's within a 50 mile radius helping charities and special causes. I, with this in mind, suggested a 5K and
began looking into hosting one. I started researching who might be able to help us and quckly realized we could host a 5K ourselves in our own town and give back to the communities we grew up in! Nomination letters for the 5k event to be held in March 2015 will begin being accepted after the first of April of 2014 through our mailing address or directly to our website. The family that is chosen will be contacted by December 1st, 2014. Flyers will be posted and emails will be sent beginning January 1st, 2015, promoting the upcoming 5K in March. Reason's for being nominated may be as follows: house fire, extreme medical expenses, loss of job due to illness/injury, survivor, life crisis, etc. There wil be a $30 entry fee ($5 to cover Tshirt upon registration and $25 being charitable donation). A business account is held with Northwest Savings Bank in Lawrenceville, Pa. All money will be deposited into that account and $25 from each person registered will be written in full amount via check to the family chosen.
