Before the the Ebola frenzy, disabled of Liberia suffered the silent violence of social inequality and exclusion. However, the media failed to take note. Post Ebola, this violence still exist. It's a grand shame!

In this 21 Century, we can no longer afford to sit by while our fellow citizens are being treated as second class citizens. It's high time we rise to the occasion and say no to social inequality and exclusion.

Liberians deserve a country free of Country, Congo, Crippled, Blind or Crazy people . She deserves a country where all citizens are equal irrespective of their looks, physical impairment or mental impairments. Liberia deserves to live as ONE NATION INDIVISIBLE WITH LIBERTY & JUSTICES FOR ALL!!!

Hassan says a big thank you to JAF for his Cerebral Palsy Chair. At least, he doesn't have to sit helplessly slumped in a regular chair anymore because a specialized one replaced it through the love of Christ from www.joniandfriends.org .
There are a thousand more Hassans in Liberia ,but Lord willing, they'll receive theirs also.

Disabled Pride Day!

July 13, 2013, FATDA lNC celebrated Disabled Pride Day in Monrovia, Liberia.
Disabled Pride was a day when disabled of all kinds in Liberia stood up against social sanctioned stigma, and institutional discrimination and demanded their rights as enshrine in the Liberian constitution and other world covenants.
For the most part, disability in Liberia is viewed by many as a curse ,and because of this notion, disabled are treated as second class citizens by both some members of the society as well as the government. In spite of all that, there are some who do sympathize, empathize and identify with our community in Liberia and we feel compel to honor them in this public manner.
To our partners :NOCAL, NASSCORP, CEMENCO, EVELYN'S Bar and Restaurant, NIC, MARITIME, NPA, CARTER CENTER, MRC, AIFO, NCD, NTA, Grand Royal Hotel, Africa Motors, SP, LPRC, NP, CJ Construction, The Liberian Chamber of Commerce, Marit Woods, Spencer Kollie, Daniel, Brooklyn, Henry Costa, Mcrina Toe, Clifford Protector Bonah, LBS, TRUTH FM, HOT FM, etc, we say a big thank you.
It is our fervent prayers that we all continue to address the plights of our most vulnerable and disenfranchised citizens, Persons with Disabilities.
