Good morning, everyone.
If you were anticipating this event to be a complete failure, I regret to inform you that you were mistaken. I would like to extend my gratitude to Vince Tomeo for organizing this significant event. It encompassed not only the Co****le Tournament but also the Picnic. He assembled an exceptional team, which included Katie S as the Host and Picnic Chairman, along with Dave H and Kris G managing the grill, Judy S designing the baskets, and Tricia H serving as the mixologist. The event commenced at 1:00 PM and continued until 10:30 PM. However, preparations began as early as 7:00 AM, with Dave and Kris getting the food ready while Vince worked on the parking lot layout. This effort involved another team, which included Mike Rock, Vince's son Danny, and Kris G. We all contributed to moving items as needed. They also served as the cleanup crew, with the additional support of our Senior Vice Commander, Ken Kandrac. Then the festivities began, and it was an incredible celebration. The Co****le Tournament was overseen by Bill Chester, a former Lawrence Police Officer, and his friend Kerry Kathleen. It took four rounds to determine our winners, Mike and Mike, a father-son duo who triumphed over the professional team of Pete and Bucky. Following that, we were entertained by the outstanding band, Out of the Red. We would like to express our appreciation to Jimmy Vardanega and his band for delivering a fantastic performance.
We also had a couple of surprise visitors, CAPT Paul and Shaun Sexton, Commander of American Legion 458. Thank you for your Support.
Once again, if you were not present, you truly missed an extraordinary party.
