Eight years ago today, on October 20, 2018, Gwinnett County Police Officer Antwan DeArvis Toney made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting our community.

At just 30 years old, Officer Toney’s life was tragically taken in the line of duty while responding to a call. He had served with the Gwinnett County Police Department for nearly three years, dedicating himself to the responsibility and honor of protecting others.

Today, the Gwinnett County Police Foundation remembers Officer Toney, honors his service, and recognizes the profound sacrifice he made for the community he served.

While eight years have passed, the loss of a fallen officer is never forgotten. We continue to stand with his family, friends, and fellow officers, whose lives were forever changed by his sacrifice.

Officer Toney, your watch may have ended, but your legacy lives on.

Forever remembered. Forever honored. Never forgotten.

💙 SUPPORTING THOSE WHO SERVE!

First responders carry stress that many of us can hardly imagine. Sometimes, even a few moments to relax and recharge can make a difference.

Thanks to the generosity of Brave United and Infinity Chairs, the Gwinnett County Police Foundation was awarded a grant providing a massage chair to support the health and wellness of Gwinnett County Police Department employees.

This incredible investment will offer a little relief to those who give so much of themselves to our community every day.

Thank you, Brave United and Infinity Massage Chairs, for your partnership and commitment to caring for those who serve! 💙

BIG NEWS! YOUR IMPACT CAN BE DOUBLED!

At our inaugural Gwinnett Police Gala, we were thrilled to announce a $50,000 matching grant to establish a permanent scholarship endowment for the children of Gwinnett County Police Department employees!

Every dollar donated will be MATCHED, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000!

Our goal? Raise $50,000 by December 15 to unlock the full match and create a $100,000 endowment that will support law enforcement families for generations to come.

Now we need our community to help make it happen! Please help us spread the word by sharing this post! Together, we can turn this incredible opportunity into a lasting legacy for our GCPD families!

As National Police Week comes to a close, we also pause to remember two four-legged heroes of the Gwinnett County Police Department — K9 Blue and K9 Eli.

These loyal partners served alongside their handlers with courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to protecting others. They were more than police dogs; they were officers, teammates, and family.

K9 Blue was fatally shot on September 10, 2020, while tracking an armed suspect after the suspect fled from a stolen vehicle in Norcross. He was the department’s first canine assigned full-time to the SWAT Unit and served with incredible bravery.

K9 Eli passed away on May 23, 2019, after suffering heat exhaustion while tracking a fleeing suspect following a vehicle pursuit. He faithfully served the department and community for eight years.

At the Gwinnett County Police Foundation, we honor the sacrifice of all who serve, including our K9 officers who stand beside their handlers every day in service to our community.

We will never forget K9 Blue and K9 Eli.

Today during National Police Week, and on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we honor the memory of Police Officer Pradeep Tamang and remember the tremendous sacrifice he made in service to our community. End of Watch: February 1, 2026

Officer Tamang represented courage, integrity, and a deep commitment to protecting others. His loss was felt throughout Gwinnett County and his legacy continues to live on through his fellow officers, loved ones, and the countless lives he touched during his service.

National Police Week is a time to reflect on the true meaning of service and sacrifice and a reminder that those who wear the badge do so out of a calling to serve something greater than themselves.

The Gwinnett County Police Foundation remains honored to stand beside the Gwinnett County Police Department as we remember our fallen heroes and support those who continue the mission every day.

We will never forget Officer Tamang or the sacrifice he made for our community. A special thank you to for the memorial tribute song honoring Officer Tamang
