It's nice to finish early on a hot day! Much thanks to this crew making this possible at SunHarvest Gardens, but also ensuring we harvested some delicious beans, tomatoes, and peppers to share in the community ℂ𝕙𝕦𝕣𝕔𝕙 𝕠𝕗 π•₯𝕙𝕖 π•ƒπ•šπ•₯π•₯𝕝𝕖 𝔽𝕝𝕠𝕨𝕖𝕣 pantry and CAIN !!

We have another great lineup in September for Garden Gatherings at Beecher - bringing the community to the community Garden. First up, this Saturday, September 5th, our wonderful Kirsten Carlson’s Kids in the Garden is back with Birds in the Garden. Kids of all ages will investigate the structure and function of bird feathers using a microscope and identify feather shapes. They will also make and take this beautiful tissue paper β€œstained glass” bird.

Please join us this morning for Garden Gatherings at Beecher - bringing the community to the community garden. We will be at the Beecher Community garden on the corner of Short and William St. until 1pm. Today is our final seasonal tasting event - the Tomato Festival. πŸ…πŸ…πŸ…We have all things tomato - salsas, roasted, tomatoes, tomato preserves, and of course fresh tomatoes. Also lots of great info on growing, harvesting, prepping, and preserving tomatoes. Visit with us then check out the Lawrenceburg Farmers Market across the street. It’s a beautiful day to shop local in Lawrenceburg!

Join Oxbow, Inc. and Green Umbrella for the next Give a Hoot for Oxbow – Fall River Sweep on September 26, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Oxbow Nature Conservancy. πŸ“…

During this event, volunteers will help clean up trash and debris along the Ohio River from recent flooding. We need YOU to help us restore this beautiful shoreline!

✨ Bonus - there will be coffee and donuts for volunteers to enjoy. 🍩

Looking for an opportunity to experience the peak of fall migration? Join us for a bird walk on September 5, 2026 from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM through the Oxbow Nature Conservancy to experience this incredible season! πŸͺΆ

This trip will be led by Oxbow, Inc. board member and skilled birder, Erich Baumgardner. During the trip, our group will be looking for warblers and other migrating songbirds, shorebirds, eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, and early waterfowl moving through. πŸ¦†
