Our goal is to help our Native men & women at Haskell overcome adversity and succeed. Pola Farve runs the "Haskell LIGHT" (aka Sacred Ground) Campus Student Center at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas. Students can come study, play games, watch movies, make music, cook, make art, sew, fellowship in Bible study and create lasting memories together. Our new activities and hours a
re based on student surveys and feedback. Our goal is to walk with and alongside our Native brothers and sisters, letting our light shine before them, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven. (Matthew 5:16)
Nearly 1,000 students from 145 tribes attend the university each semester. Pola, with the help of student outreach coordinators, volunteers and partners; strive to develop meaningful relationships with these young adults at a time when they are searching and forming their core values and beliefs.
