Scholarship To Help Youth : Memorialize Legend

Jim Griffin was just one of those guys: a soft spoken under stated hero. He graduated Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA with academic excellence, and then he went on to serve his country dutifully in Korea. Upon returning he married his childhood sweetheart, Gert with whom he started a beautiful family of three daughters. He provided for his family his whole life through his job as an electrician with the phone company (from which he had no shortage of stories). And when Griffy retired he started his work at the Greater Lawrence Community Boating Program where he became a legend for his ability to tell jokes, fix boats, teach sailing, build kids up that needed building and keep things calm when the waters got choppy. He made everyone better around him and this scholarship is built by those who loved him most to help farm another Jim Griffin for future generations by promoting his values through this scholarship.
