Barker Neighborhood Potluck

Sunday, May 1, 5:00 PM

Cottin's Hardware Back Parking Lot (1800 block of New Hampshire Street)

Join your neighbors for the Barker Neighborhood Spring Potluck

This is different from the annual Barker Neighborhood Association picnic. There won't be a program, meeting or elections like the bigger event in the fall - just a chance for neighbors to get together and enjoy a meal. We hope you and your household can make it!

What to bring:
1) A potluck dish to share (if you're not able to for any reason, we hope you can still plan to be there!)

2) BYOB - bring your own beer, if desired (remember, open alcohol containers are not allowed on the sidewalks or streets and must be consumed on Cottin’s property)

3) Plates, utensils, cups for your household (there will be a limited supply on hand, but please bring your place setting to help keep cost and waste down)

4) Your neighbors (not everyone is on this Facebook group so spread the word so that everyone is invited!)

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

If you'd like to be a part of helping with the potluck, please let us know that, too!

From Lisa, our BNA President:

Hey neighbors,

I hope to see you this evening at Babcock Place, 7:00 PM, for our special meeting on the proposed police facility.

We'll have Police Chief Khatib and former District Attorney Jerry Harper presenting two perspectives on the topic. Each presentation will be 15-20 minutes, followed by questions from us.

Should be a great opportunity to learn about this issue and the tax implications. We are fortunate to have the opportunity for face to face dialogue at the neighborhood level. Please attend!

If you're curious to see the renovations of the old Lawrence Community Theater building, Vintage Church is hosting an open house this Saturday, Oct 4 from 3-5pm. They're also combining the open house with a food drive and asking everyone to bring a food item for the Heartland Community Health Center food pantry.
