DID YOU KNOW...? (Warning: some facts are slightly disgusting, but all are true)

"An estimated 2.5 billion people lack access to improved sanitation (more than 35% of the world’s population)"

"Unsafe drinking water, inadequate availability of water for hygiene, and lack of access to sanitation together contribute to about 88% of deaths from diarrheal diseases"

"An estimated 801,000 children younger than 5 years of age perish from diarrhea each year, mostly in developing countries. This amounts to 11% of the 7.6 million deaths of children under the age of five and means that about 2,200 children are dying every day as a result of diarrheal disease"

HOW CAN YOU HELP??

"Water, sanitation and hygiene has the potential to prevent at least 9.1% of the global disease burden and 6.3% of all deaths"

SO PLEASE DONATE SO TOGETHER WE CAN HELP END SOME OF THESE DEATHS CAUSED BY POOR SANITATION.

Donate now at https://www.crowdrise.com/KU-Wisc-2015 and help us save lives.

Now is your chance to make a difference! Please help us raise funds for our sustainable development project this summer in the rural community of Jesus Maria, Peru. Just $10 can make a big difference for so many people. Since we live in a world where public bathrooms are just a few steps away, we don't think about how life would be without a simple latrine, a life 1.2 billion people live each day. This lifestyle causes contamination to the soil and water supply as well as brings an infestation of insects and disease. Please go onto https://www.crowdrise.com/KU-Wisc-2015 and help us save lives.

3 days left until the start of our giving challenge! Your donations will not go to waste!

For the second year in a row, we are partnering with MOCHE, who's initiative is for fresh water and sanitation to reach every part of the globe. Any small donation will help as we gift these strong people the simple access to fresh water. We will raise their spirits and give them a healthier lifestyle by building them latrines. In order to gift them that we need money for supplies, so please help us help the world by telling your friends and family about our giving challenge. The more support we have the more we will be able to help these families and children who deserve it.

Hello all! There are four days left until the start of this year's giving challenge! Please share this post with your friends and help us to raise money for a great cause!

What is the Giving Challenge, you ask? The Giving Challange is an opportunity for Chapters to raise money for their project as well as gain valuable skills in fundraising. Last year, Chapters raised over $55,000 through the Giving Challenge to support their projects, and we expect this year's Giving Challenge will be even bigger and better.

This year the Giving Challenge will kick off on February 4th and run through February 25th. Chapters have the opportunity to win prize money from NINO for accomplishments like most money raised and most individual donors!

Both your donations and the prize money will be going towards supplies for our sanitation project in Jesus Maria, Peru!
