Jayhawks Breaking Barriers (JBB) is an organization at the University of Kansas (KU) sponsored by the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Follow us on Twitter

Our leadership team is a group of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars who initiated an AAUW Campus Action Project to train future women leaders in spring 2017. JBB's mission is to empower undergraduate women at K

U through leadership training and research, and to raise awareness of the gender leadership gap in our community. What will our participants do?

- work with local women leaders to gather data on gender leadership gaps from companies in the Kansas/Missouri area
- present findings to KU students, administrators, and business leaders at a community event in spring 2017
- learn about local career opportunities and ways to contribute to their field
- establish lifelong mentoring connections with women in STEM
- participate in specialized leadership training relevant to being a woman leader in STEM
- one of our twenty participants will be chosen for a paid trip to attend the AAUW National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (May 31-June 3)
