Back 2 School Store- NCJW Peninsula

Dear Back 2 School Store Friend,

It is our deepest hope that this note finds you and your families in good health.

The Covid-19 virus has placed all our lives in a different state of reality. Many decisions have been made throughout the world to control the virus and keep us all safe.

To ensure the safety of our volunteers and families we have decided to cancel the 2020 Back 2 School Store event that was scheduled in July. Throughout the country other NCJW Sections have made the decision to also cancel their Back 2 School Stores.

Due to the contributions of our donors, and a recently received generous grant, we are currently working on a plan to help distribute filled backpacks to local children. Working with local agencies and school districts, we are ironing out the details and plan to implement this project in the near future. The backpacks will contain school supplies as well as art supplies that can be used immediately. We are excited to know that the children will once again be the recipients of our generosity and we will help to put smiles on their faces.

We will continue to store our merchandise and have been told by our vendors that our pending orders will be held for next year. Also, any donation money remaining after completing this project will be rolled over for next year.

We are getting ready for our 7th annual Back 2 School Store and are inviting 850 children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade including a special time for physically challenged children.

We need approximately 300 volunteers. For more information go to the NCJW Peninsula Section website.

Looking forward to another wonderful event in July 2019.
