Chabad at KU Chabad is a warm, non-judgmental, fun, exciting, and lively place, where every Jewish student feels comfortable. At Chabad, a Jew is a Jew, period.

It is a home for every Jew, "Where Every Jew Is Family"! Chabad recognizes all Jews, regardless of affiliation, background or levels of observances. Our philosophy states that every Jew deserves an equal opportunity to experience and enjoy their heritage. Our center is directed by Rabbi Zalman & Nechama Tiechtel. Chabad is right there, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and serves as the “Home Away From Home” for every Jewhawk, for any need. Come experience Chabad and join the Family!

It was such a pleasure to welcome Lori McSorley, Executive Director of Van Go , to the Cutler Family Chabad House. We loved learning more about the incredible work Van Go does to support and empower local youth, and we’re excited to explore meaningful ways our organizations can work together to make an even greater impact in the Lawrence community.

KU Chabad commemorated October 7 with a Mitzvah pledge table on campus during classes, followed by a heartfelt reflection at Chabad in the evening. During the meaningful reflection, we honored the lives lost and the heroes who rose, said a prayer, and shared our personal experiences dealing with the pain and growth that October 7 brought us as individuals. Together, we remembered the pain, celebrated the resilience of the Jewish people, and reaffirmed our commitment to Jewish pride, unity, and an unbreakable connection to our holy land. We cannot always choose the darkness around us, but we can choose to respond with more light and more Jewish pride.

3 years later, it still hurts yet we are more Jewishly proud than ever before.
Thank you KC Fox 4 for capturing our voice.

(Part 2) Family Shabbat at Chabad during KU Parents Weekend ’26 was memorable beyond measure. 140 Jewhawks in one room, celebrating so many loves at once — Shabbat, our families, and of course, KU! ❤️💙

Thank you Vice Chancellor Jullie Murray for joining us and sharing your words of support. Thank you to the many parents and students who shared such warm sentiments. And most important of all — thank you all for being a part of the special Chabad@KU Mishpacha.
