The SafeBar Alliance works to keep bar staff and patrons safer from sexual harassment and assault through education and bystander intervention techniques.

It is based out of The Care Center (stacarecenter.org) in Lawrence, KS.

Would you look at this great group of Red Lyon Employees?! This week, Red Lyon Tavern went through their SafeBar Alliance training where they talked about safety in their establishment. We walked through scenarios where they demonstrated using the 3 D's of bystander intervention skills.

Another SafeBar training in the books! Thank you RPG (Restaurant, Pub & Games) for having us out.

This group had great conversations and group discussions. Their non-traditional service allows them to work closely as a staff and collaborate with each other during a busy night and we think that's pretty great!

Thank you Merchants Pub & Plate for a fantastic SafeBar Alliance training! This large group was attentive, had amazing discussion, and really care about fostering a positive work environment. (They even applauded us when we were introduced 🥲)

Thank you everyone who came out and welcomed us! They have even donated a basket including custom glass wear and a gift certificate to our silent auction for our fundraiser!

Back to back SafeBar trainings?? Yep, we are getting back into the swing of things here at The Care Center!

Thank you to the managers and bartenders at Johnny’s West who listened and contributed to the amazing conversations we had yesterday. These individuals practically did our jobs for us, especially when we talked about the different skills. Way to go, Johnny’s!

We’re back! Did you miss us? We took a break from in person SafeBar trainings, but we are back in business!

Can you guess the bar? This small neighborhood bar got re-trained this weekend and we had some amazing conversations with the small staff. They had lots of questions and really wanted to learn about bystander skills. Thanks for having us, Louise’s West!

Did you know? Show Up for Survivors is a Safe Bar focused fundraiser that will include local trivia about all of our SafeBar! Get tickets for the April 1st.

This was our biggest SafeBar Alliance training to date (pictured half of the staff that showed up)! Thank you to all the staff at Lucia Beer Garden + Grill, The Bottleneck and The Granada Theater that showed up last week to take part in some great conversations! This was a great training because we talked about situations for concerts and event specific concerns that might arise in these establishments (another program we are currently working on so stay tuned). Thank you everyone for staying engaged and listening to our training.

As the year is coming to an end we want to shout out all of our SafeBar Alliance members that renewed their membership! We recommend renewing your SafeBar Alliance training every year. The more frequent the trainings, the better the conversations and knowledge your staff walk away with. We can’t wait to see what next year will bring!

Another staff SafeBar Alliance Certified! Thanks to the staff at Liberty Hall for inviting us for a training! This small but mighty staff handles all kinds of events like concerts, weddings, private parties, etc. which made for a wide range of topics to discuss. Thank you for having us!

The giant group of servers and support staff at 715 Restaurant are fully SafeBar trained! This might be the biggest group we’ve trained this year! We had some very candid conversations that lead to some open communication between the staff. Thank you all for being so involved in this program and really caring about the safety of your community.

Thank you Louise's Bar Downtown for a great SafeBar training! This staff was involved and brought up some great talking points during our two hour training. They had some great energy and welcomed us with open arms. Go see this great staff at Louises Bar Downtown! Our list of SafeBar Alliance Certified establishments keeps growing and we LOVE IT!

Are you all loving all of these establishments getting SafeBar trained just as much as we do?! The staff at 715 Restaurant did a great job with their training! We had some complex conversations and identified issues that may arise here and other places like it. The staff (and beautiful bar) are ready for you!
