A great time was had last Saturday at our kick off party! A little scrap booking, fun, games, lots of goodies to eat and even some prizes.

As I know everyone's calendars fill up quickly, I wanted to let you know, prior to our Kick Off meeting, we will be participating in the Delta Zeta Hike for Hearing and Speech for those interested. This "hike" can be as short or as long of a distance as you wish and can be done individually or with our group or any group. Any walking will count as a "hike" as long as you take a selfie picture when you have completed your "hike" (or a group picture if you hike with others). (You can send your hike picture to any of the Board members who will then submit all the pictures of our Chapter at one time.) Then, it has been suggested that each hiker make a donation and the amount can be as small as $5.00 and your donation can be given to Terry, our new Treasurer. The dates the Executive Board have scheduled are: Saturday, August 22, at 8:00 A.M. at Heritage Park in Olathe and Saturday, September 12, at 10:00 A.M. in Lawrence (location to be announced at a later date). Feel free to join the fun at either or both of these hike dates or any date that you would wish to "hike" for Delta Zeta Hike for Hearing and Speech! We will discuss the HIke for Hearing and Speech at our Kick Off meeting.

Our Kick Off Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, at 1:00 P.M. at Terry Punswick's home with Jodi Picard as co-hostess. We hope to see everyone for our kick off meeting. I know it is in the middle of the Summer, but we will be having a raffle at our Kick Off meeting for a Delta Zeta Christmas wreath with proceeds going to a charity that we can discuss and vote upon at the meeting. So, if you would like to participate in the raffle and possibly go home with a pretty Delta Zeta Christmas wreath, please bring some cash.

We are sadden to announce that one of our sisters has passed away after a long struggle with cancer. If you know Joann Hootz and wish to attend her funeral, here is the information.

Lawrence Delta Zeta Alumnae Chapter will be gathering next Saturday and here is the reminder/information.

WHAT: Spring Coffee, Scrapbooking & Flower Pick-up
WHERE: Kathy Chaney - hostess
WHEN: Saturday, May 2,2026
TIME: 10:00 A.M.
WHAT TO BRING: A smile, checkbook to pay dues ($30) and geraniums if ordered, and grocery cards for Dillons or Checkers will be available for purchase, scrapbook supplies you are willing to share (scissors, glue, embellishments/stickers, pens or markers) and words of encouragement for the new officers
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO: Please make arrangements with Kathy prior to Friday afternoon, May 1st, if you DID geraniums & WILL NOT be picking them up Saturday morning. This will help Kathy and me with food planning too.
ONGOING PROJECTS: Prescription bottles (labels removed) for Humane Society, old or used candles and cans with the pop-top lid for the homeless project
