Over the past several weeks, community partners have played a vital role in supporting our vocational programming, contributing their time and expertise to a job fair and mock interviews for our CNA students.

A heartfelt thank-you to our community partners, including Mary Immaculate/Covenant Health, Athena Health Care, and D’Youville Nursing Home for investing in our students and helping make these experiences possible!

We’re incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented Board of Directors guiding our organization! We’re especially grateful for the outstanding leadership and service of Christie Ibe and Tim Hart as they conclude 9 impactful years on the board. Their contributions have helped shape our success in countless ways, and while we’ll miss their presence on the board, we’re very thankful they will continue sharing their expertise in mentoring and committee roles🌻

Last Friday, we had the joy of celebrating the graduation of our latest ENAP cohort. The ceremony was filled with tears, laughter, and heartfelt moments that reflected how far each graduate has come throughout the program. We are incredibly proud of all 13 graduates for their commitment and perseverance in reaching this important milestone!

We were also honored to host Derek Kalchbrenner, DESE Educational Specialist and MassSTEP Program Specialist, and appreciate his continued support of workforce and educational opportunities.

Programs like this are only possible through strong partnerships, and we extend our sincere gratitude to the Department of Education, CommCorp, Linden Foundation, Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, Catholic Health Foundation, The Women’s Fund of Essex County, Steven’s Foundation, Cummings Foundation, Eastern Bank, Gable Family Fund, Mifflin Memorial Fund, Jampart Charitable Trust, NiSource, and Rockland Trust for making this work possible. Your support continues to open doors and create life-changing opportunities for so many!

Last week, NDEC-L administrators completed “Data Literacy for Impact”, an incredible four-part training led by Yvonne Castaneda from the Boston College School of Social Work. Through this experience, our team strengthened its ability to collect, analyze, and interpret community data to better support the communities we serve and make more informed, impactful decisions.

To honor her impact on our organization, our Executive Director presented Yvonne with a sunflower pin, a symbol of the NDEC-L community, officially welcoming her into our family. Thank you, Yvonne, for sharing your expertise and empowering our team!

On Wednesday, May 6th, a team of NDEC-L’s advisors, ESOL instructors, and Conversation Café facilitators attended the fabulous NETWORK Conference organized by MCAE (Massachusetts Coalition for Adult Education) each year. True to its name, NETWORK offered ample opportunity to connect with and learn from colleagues from around the state. So grateful to MCAE’s Conference Committee for putting together such an inspiring event and to the Royal Plaza Trade Center for welcoming all of us each year!
