A little over a week ago we had a request from the Cordley Elementary Marathon Club here in town. If you'd be interested in helping, please reach out here and let us know. We'll put you in touch with the right people.

The club is planning to meet Friday mornings from 8:00-8:30 before school starts and run laps around the playground (or in gym if weather is bad). Volunteers help scan kids' badges to track their laps. There is a little bit of training to get the app on your phone for scanning, so ideally a volunteer is able to commit to several Fridays of the school year.

Let me remind you of two things:

2) We've seen at least four Dog Days spin-offs. If you're interested about starting one in your area, reach out to us. Message us here on FB, Instagram, Threads, Twitter, or the website. (Transparency: that's a lot of channels. Give us time to read them all.)

Around 100 people regularly brave the summer heat and push themselves to their limits in hopes of getting their hands on coveted "Dog Days" T-shirts. Don "Red Dog" Gardner has led the community workouts for more than four decades.
