This summer, Lawrence is going to be extra lively as we welcome visitors from around the world and host the Algerian National Team during the World Cup season ⚽🌍

With more events, tourism, and activity happening across Lawrence and surrounding communities, things may feel a bit busier than usual for families.

This is a great time for parents and caregivers to check in with youth about staying safe in public spaces, staying connected with trusted adults and friends, and making thoughtful choices while still enjoying everything summer has to offer.

Yesterday was an adventure-filled day for our older youth group at Wildwood Outdoor Education Center! 🌲☀️

A group of six youth spent the day challenging themselves, trying new things, and making memories together. From conquering the high ropes course to testing their skills in target sports like atlatl and axe throwing, the day was packed with fun and confidence-building activities.

The group also enjoyed a hike through nature, a campfire lunch, and time out on the water boating. It was such a great day filled with laughter, teamwork, and new experiences.

We’re so grateful for opportunities like these that allow youth to connect, grow, and step outside of their comfort zones!

We’re excited to highlight Leasia and Drailee for their hard work and progress this track season with Legion Athletics, LLC ! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

They are doing great and getting faster with each practice and meet, and it’s been amazing to watch their growth this season. We are so proud of them!

We love seeing their dedication, consistency, and confidence building each week. Keep up the great work, Leasia and Drailee—your effort is paying off! 💛

Looking for something active and free for teens this summer? 💪☀️

Planet Fitness is once again offering their High School Summer Pass program, allowing teens ages 14–19 to work out FREE from June 1 through August 31! 🏋️
