Fall semester recap!

From warehouse days to on-site milestones, this fall we watched our building take shape piece by piece. Roof placement and TPO roof completed, insulation and sheathing going in, curtain wall and exterior walls standing tall, glulam columns and beams set, and plenty of concrete pours. Plus all the prep that made them happen.

A whole lot of teamwork, learning, and getting our hands dirty!

The team’s been hard at work prepping and finishing the glulams for this year’s house! We’re excited to see these beams and columns come to life as a key sustainable feature in our design.

These beams carry their own history. Originally milled in the 1950s, the glulams were sourced from a Los Angeles building and repurposed by Olson Kundig for the “38 Beams” instillation at Design Miami. Thanks to Olson Kundig’s donation, we have the opportunity to find new life for the glulams in this year’s house!

This is a great chance to hear firsthand about the Studio 804 experience, how the program works, and ask any questions you might have about the process or life in 804. The session will run until 1:00 PM, and Topper’s Pizza will be provided afterwards. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect and learn more!
