If any of my Indy peeps wish to help us feed a family in need, the cost is only $2/person. And volunteers are always welcome to help us distribute 700 Gleaner food boxes!!
Hero Farms to Provide Holiday Meals To Those In Need
Hero Farms has partnered once again with far eastside community volunteers to bring a Christmas holiday dinner to families in need.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Due to the need seen on Thanksgiving Day, Hero Farms will be serving the community a Christmas Meal on Wednesday, December 23rd from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This is possible thanks to partners from the greater Indianapolis area and in Lawrence.
We will gather at 4228 N Post Road again to serve the free meals and 700 produce boxes to our far eastside families. Our meal will be available for carry-out or delivery only. Deliveries will be made to those homebound due to COVID-19 or individuals with disabilities living in zip code 46226 and 46235. No contact deliveries will be made. The deadline to request a Christmas meal delivery is Monday, December 21st at 3:00 PM. Social distancing will be enforced, and COVID-19 guidelines will be in place including wearing personal protective equipment like masks. We will be taking everyone’s temperature who comes through the door.
Pastor Mike Wiley stated, “This year with so many of us being isolated and not being able to be with our families, we want to bring the real spirit of the season back by spreading the love of Jesus. After Thanksgiving, we are all family now. We want our community to continue to come together. We want to open this up to anyone that does not have someone to spend the holiday with. We want you to know that you are loved and not forgotten.”
The cost to feed one individual is only $2, and we are asking for donations because we know more than 500 people will show up.
