If you or someone else you know would be interested in becoming a zip line facilitator at our camp contact Kyra Flummerfelt at [email protected]. This is a volunteer position. You must be 18 years old or older, be or be willing to become a registered Girl Scout, be able to volunteer some mornings during the 2nd & 3rd week of June and attend the mandatory 2 day training on 4/20-4/21/24.

This is a fun way to volunteer to help mostly Girl Scouts but also other youths of Douglas County experience this challenging and empowering activity. It is such a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

The camp will pay for your training but we do request at least a two year commitment as this is an expensive training and we are a non-profit camp. Please reach out if you’re interested. I would love to answer any questions you may have.

Just a reminder that if you encounter wildlife to let them be! And watch your step when you’re out on the trails. 😉

Wildlife is abundant in the spring- turtles, frogs, birds, deer, snakes and more! Hidden Valley is home to many box turtles, some of our volunteers even saw one in the parking lot this week (which they helped move to the side of the road in the direction it was headed)! This smal friend was photographed on a trail by the pond.

Our pond is full of tadpoles and frogs! Watch your step in the meadow!

Our zip team is officially refreshed! Thank you to John from Beyond Ropes for our training!

Fall is a favorite time at Hidden Valley. Autumn colors abound at camp- hedge apples, asters, and changing leaves add pops of color to the rapidly browning landscape. Cardinals and blue jays can be heard in the trees. Signs of our animal friends can be seen if you look hard enough!

Thank you to our hikers and board members for the photos!

Camp was thrilled to be part of a gray squirrel release through Operation Wildlife! The boxes were hung with care throughout our property and our new squirrel friends moved in today!

Be careful while walking our trails in autumn, you never know who might be amongst the leaves!
