MISSION:
Blacktrans Pride is a practice of centering Blacktrans Dignity and Blacktrans Survival in our everyday living. This practice requires us all to be honest with ourselves about our very own living and our contributions to an anti-Black world.

And this simple practice of centering the most vulnerable humans within our communities, for only a week, will cause disruption, chaos, character assassinations and possibly emotional and physical death (s) - all because confronting the truth of our living is the toughest and scariest and most necessary thing we’ll ever do.

the instagram engagement around the Black(trans) Pride, Baby posts have been sliced in half. I’m not sure what to attribute such a decline in engagement to. This means, as always, taking risks and sharing content is important.

Further (Critical) Assertions:

I will not ask nor beg for anything this Black(trans) season. It is your responsibility to find ways to be helpful by leveraging your resources and your community. Moreover, it is your responsibility to figure out why you would prefer me to beg and plead to you -
why it’s important for me to be on my knees while demanding help.

Again, remember, this is a practice of decentering yourselves. It can’t and won’t feel good. There is no welcome sign nor pleasant elevator music nor applause nor thank yous nor acknowledgement of performance - only our pursuit of truth and shining light on the most vulnerable peoples within our communities.

This is a time to challenge yourselves to move beyond your ignorance, your projections and your delusion, and attempt to intimately implicate yourselves in the mess.

Truly, work through your defenses. What (actually) stops you from being helpful? Be honest.

Make sure to challenge can and cannot language - instead, replace with willing & unwilling. Again, be honest.
