Lawrence Fair Trade

Lawrence Fair Trade Lawrence Fair Trade is a community group dedicated to raising awareness of global economic injustice and working to establish sustainable solutions.

Lawrence Fair Trade hosts events in the Lawrence community with the main goals of educating consumers and empowering producers. We bring in fair trade products from producers all over the world, and give Lawrence residents and KU students an alternative place to buy holi

day gifts for friends and family that really give back to the people who make them. We also host movie screenings, discussions, and other events on occasion (generally involving delicious fair trade snacks!)

Join our village of volunteers! Ten Thousand Villages is opening a store in Downtown Lawrence soon.

The mission of Ten Thousand Village is to create opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to our markets through long-term fair trading relationships. Because we are a nonprofit retailer, volunteers are needed for customer service and stocking shelves. Volunteers commit to a minimum of two four-hour shifts per month. To request an application, send an email to [email protected] or call Carol Nalbandian at 785-841-6012.
