Erin’s House 2 is starting to look like a home! Insulation and sheetrock are completed inside and we finally have a new exterior! A huge thanks to Martanne Construction for keeping this project moving.

Additionally, we send a heartfelt thank you to the following companies for their donations:

We continue to make huge progress on Erin’s House 2 with Friends of Yates! Recently, two big milestones were reached with the help of two generous donations:

🏠Our initial plan was to patch the existing roof until Century Roofing stepped in to donate a brand new roof. This will keep residents well covered for many years to come.
🏠A complete HVAC system (including labor and installation) was donated by Mike Bryant Heating and Cooling, allowing us to replace outdated equipment with a state of the art system.

Up next… new siding!

The Do Good for Erin Foundation is so excited to celebrate this year’s Erin Langhofer MSW, LCSW Scholarship recipients: Alexa Morlier and Lily Shine!

Alexa is a part-time student working full-time at KU Med in case management in the Social Work Department. Her work at KU Med inspired her to go back to school and pursue a BSW degree.

Lily is using her experience in the KU School of Social Welfare to work toward making a difference in areas she’s passionate about, like mental health services and homelessness.

The $5,000 scholarships are awarded each year at the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare to BSW students pursuing their Masters Degree at KU. Erin would be so excited to help Alexa and Lily continue their education and would be so proud of the work they are both doing. Cheers to Alexa and Lily! 🩵
