It’s National Nursing Assistants Week (aka CNA Week) June 11th-17th! As a certified nursing assistant, your work shows up in the moments that matter most. You’re the one helping patients feel comfortable, offering encouragement during difficult days, and bringing compassion to people when they need it most.

Your work is physically demanding, emotionally exhausting, and often goes unseen, but the impact you make is undeniable. That’s why CNA Week 2026 matters and why this years theme, “We’re Unbelievable”, feels so fitting.

Celebrating Outstanding Volunteer Service

Last night at the Laurinburg/Scotland County Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards banquet, we were proud to celebrate a truly exceptional volunteer.

Bunny Hasty, Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice of Scotland County had the honor of presenting the Governor's award for Volunteer Service to Joseph "JoJo" Hunt, Jr. This prestigious recognition,signed by Governor Josh Stein, is the highest dedication of appreciation for distinguished volunteer service to the people and the State of North Carolina.

JoJo has been an incredible asset to Hospice of Scotland County, generously giving over 168 hours of service and continuing to make a difference . From visiting patients in homes and facilities, to supporting Camp Spinoza, to playing a major role in fundraising events and community outreach-his compassion, dedication and servant heart shine through on everything he does.

He is actively involved in events such as Candlelight Memorial Service, where his support brings comfort and meaning to families and staff alike.

Jojo consistently goes above and beyond to positively impact the lives of those we serve. His character, kindness, and commitment to our mission inspires us all.

We proudly operate our secondary Hospice of Scotland County location from our office located at 1007 Cheraw Street in Bennettsville, SC. From this office, we are able to service Marlboro County and areas of Dillon and Chesterfield Counties!

The Hospice of Scotland County golf tournament hit a huge milestone with its 40th Anniversary event this week. This year’s tournament raised over $186,000 (with a few more funds incoming) pushing the tournament’s all-time total past the $5 million mark.

$5,073,422 and counting!

All proceeds benefit services provided by Hospice of Scotland County. Thank you to all of the sponsors, golfers, volunteers, silent auction contributors, and everyone else who make this event possible!
