1) EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT
Our purpose is to work within the community to provide after school program tutoring and mentoring services to improve performance for low-performing at-risk students. Our plan to achieve improvement is by providing additional learning opportunities, increasing personal responsibility, cultural identity, and community involvement; discouraging drug, alcohol, and weapon us
e, and other delinquency involvement; reducing dropout rates; improving academic achievement; and providing college preparation and recruitment services. Our basic belief is that all kids have the ability to learn and achieve, and with the united shared-end goal, higher education is possible.

2) ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Our purpose is to develop pathways for families to become financially secure and support their children’s healthy development and academic success. Our plan is to create conditions for economic growth and improve quality of life of families by expanding the capacity of education and job readiness training. Our basic belief is that knowledge of how education and training interact with the economy produces more valuable workers and flourishes financial security.

3) POLITICAL AWARENESS AND INVOLVEMENT
Our purpose is to promote political awareness among the community in order to create effective engagement in the political process. Our plan is to promote political involvement by developing, planning, and executing political voter education and voter registration programs; combat voter suppression; sponsor qualified candidates for offices in order to obtain equitable political representation in the local governing councils, boards and districts; prioritize promoting and advancing the political needs and concerns of the African American community; while increasing monitoring and participation in the political decision making affairs of the community; and to call for the support of recreational and entertainment programs for the communities’ youth and adults. Our basic belief is that citizens who are educated and engaged are effective in deliberation regarding beliefs, values, and the political process.

4. COMMUNITY WELLNESS
Our purpose is to promote wellness, resist oppression, and foster liberation within the community. Our plan is to generate a healthy and resilient community by increasing the quality, availability, and effectiveness of educational and community-based programs designed to prevent disease and injury, improve health, and enhance quality of life on topics such as: chronic diseases, injury and violence prevention, mental illness/behavioral health, unintended pregnancy, oral health, to***co use, substance abuse, nutrition and obesity prevention, and physical activity. Our basic belief is that the enhancement of a healthy community reflects a sense of mental and physical well-being and is effective in achieving all other goals.

5. CULTURAL AWARENESS AND INVOLVEMENT
Our purpose is to embrace and expand cultural knowledge, bridge generations, and revitalize value within the community. Our plan is to expand cultural knowledge by educating the community about Black History, Black Values, Black Beliefs, and Black Behaviors. Our basic belief is that the culture of a community significantly shapes debate and action that lead to efficient and effective developments of the community and its youth.
