Leadership isn't about giving orders from a corner office—it’s about rolling up your sleeves when it matters most!
This weekend, the executive team at BESS International traded suits, spreadsheets, and boardrooms for work gloves, grabbers, and trash bags at Granville Gude Park & Lakehouse in Laurel, MD!
What We Accomplished:
* Cleared over 150 lbs of trash and debris along the shoreline and walking trails.
* Restored key green spaces around the lake so families can enjoy a cleaner, safer park.
* Proved that real leadership starts right in our local community.
True impact happens when you show up for the places you call home. Seeing our leadership team working side-by-side with local volunteers, laughing through the mud, and making a tangible difference was the best reminder of what BESS International stands for: Action, Responsibility, and Community.
A huge thank you to the City of Laurel and every team member who spent their weekend giving back. We’re just getting started!

Join the Bess International Cleanup Campaign at Granville Gude Park!

Make a direct, positive impact in the Laurel community on Monday, August 24, 2026. Together with the Bess International Cleanup Campaign, volunteers are coming together to restore the green spaces, walking paths, and lakefront at Granville Gude Park.

Event Details

Date: Monday, August 24, 2026

Location: Granville Gude Park Lakehouse (8300 Mulberry St, Laurel, MD 20707)

What to Bring: Sturdy closed-toe shoes, work gloves, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.

What's Provided: Trash bags, pickup tools, safety guidance, and light refreshments.

Why Get Involved?

Protect Local Ecosystems: Help prevent litter from polluting the park’s lake and surrounding wildlife habitats.

We are heading to Limbe, Cameroon, to stand with families affected by the devastating floods. What many are experiencing right now is heartbreaking, and we believe that every helping hand can make a difference.

Our hearts at Bess International Foundation Inc. are with the people of Limbe during this very difficult time.

The devastating floods and landslides that have affected communities in Limbe have reminded us once again that when disaster strikes, vulnerable families, children, the elderly, and those who have already lost so much need more than sympathy — they need action.

At Bess International Foundation, we are deeply concerned about our communities in Limbe. We are currently thinking, planning, and working toward how we can respond meaningfully to the needs on the ground.

Our proposed response will focus on:

Emergency food and essential supplies for families affected by the floods.

Clean water and hygiene supplies to help reduce health risks.

Clothing and basic necessities for families who have lost belongings.

Support for children and vulnerable families who may be particularly affected.

Community assessment and assistance to better understand the immediate needs of affected households.

Mobilizing volunteers and partners to help us reach communities that need assistance.

🌱 Long-term community resilience — because our goal is not only to respond after disaster strikes, but also to help communities become better prepared for future emergencies.

We know that we cannot do everything alone.
