Give Blood. Give Hope. ❤️

The Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. - Patuxent River Chapter Sickle Cell Awareness Committee invites you to donate blood on Thursday, September 17 at the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department.

Black and African American donors are especially needed. Blood from donors of similar racial or ethnic backgrounds can be critically important for patients with sickle cell disease who need frequent transfusions. Self-identified Black, African American and multiracial donors will also receive free sickle cell trait screening with their donation.

Ladies, bring the men in your lives! Men are often less likely to be deferred for low hemoglobin, so encourage your husbands, partners, fathers, sons, brothers, and friends to roll up their sleeves too. 💪🏾❤️

❤️🩷 September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month! 🩷❤️

The Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc.® – Patuxent River Chapter was honored to attend a special screening of You Look Fine, featuring comedian, filmmaker, and sickle cell warrior J. Snow, at Greenbelt Cinema.

The documentary provided a powerful look at the invisible challenges of living with sickle cell disease and gave our Ladies an opportunity to learn, listen, and gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of sickle cell warriors and their families.

A special thank you to Lady Danielle Russell, Patuxent River Chapter Sickle Cell Chair, for her leadership and commitment to sickle cell awareness, education, and service. 💗

We also thank the Area II Sickle Cell Committee, Better Exists, and Pfizer for creating space for this important conversation.
