This is so cool!

At just 8 years old, Nicholas Buamah created an augmented reality app for his animated book series, Kayla & Kyle: The Walking Dictionaries.

The app lets children listen to the stories, watch the illustrations come to life, and play games that help build vocabulary and pronunciation skills.

Devin Thomas is turning fatherhood into a legacy children can read.

The North Carolina father and children’s book author created My Father’s Love and My Father’s Wisdom from the bond he shares with his daughter.

Through his books, school readings, and community partnerships, Thomas is helping children see love, patience, guidance, and fatherhood reflected on the page.

NEWS: Baltimore City Public Schools students have achieved 10 consecutive years of growth in literacy and four consecutive years of growth in mathematics, demonstrating the impact of the hard work happening in classrooms across our city.

This year's MCAP results show:
32.9% literacy proficiency—our highest rate since 2017.
A 1.7 percentage point increase in literacy, nearly doubling the statewide growth rate.

A fourth consecutive year of math growth, with gains that mirror statewide progress.
