OCSD: Due to expected winter weather making travel unsafe, school and extracurricular activities are canceled on Tuesday, January 21st and Wednesday, January 22nd.

Snow, sleet, and freezing rain are expected. We anticipate school reopening Thursday but will continue to monitor conditions to ensure it is safe.

SCHOOL NIGHT 2024 Planning Meeting Tomorrow at STSR

All Welcome. Please Register!!

2024 School Night Kickoff

Purpose: To identify the best recruitment method(s) for each Elementary School

E.E.O. – Enroll, Enlist, and Organize

Enroll prospective Lion Cubs, Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Youth Scouts into existing packs. Enlist parent participation in the program. Organize new dens and new units to take care of youth who want to join.

Plan: 1. Designate a “School Night” in each elementary school in the Gulf Coast Council and invite prospective members and their parents to attend a special meeting at their school in their neighborhood or community.

2. Review which recruitment method will be used with each Pack

3. A School Night team Captain will be appointed for each school to be in charge of the School Night program.

4. Leaders of the Cub Scout packs will be present to participate in the program.
