Welcome, Hannah!
**ALUMNI UPDATE**
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River is excited to introduce Hannah Richards as our new Athletic Director!
For Hannah, this isn’t simply a new job. It’s a homecoming.
Hannah has called Bullhead City home for over 30 years, and her connection to the Boys & Girls Club goes all the way back to childhood. She was a Club member from 1995–2006, became a Junior Staff member at our Bullhead City Club, and worked for BGCCR from 2003–2006.
Now, two decades later, she’s coming home to help create those same kinds of memories for a new generation of kids.
“I wanted to come back to the Club because this is where I belong. This is home. I want to give the kids experiences like I had when I was a member here.” — Hannah Richards
A 2006 graduate of Mohave High School, Hannah was a multi-sport athlete, competing in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track & field, including discus and shot put.
Since then, she has built an extensive coaching and sports background in our community. Hannah has served as an assistant softball and volleyball coach at Mohave High School, coached ASA Girls Softball for several years, coached Boys & Girls Club league basketball, ran the WSL adult softball league in Bullhead City for three seasons, and organized two local charity softball tournaments.
And she’s already getting to work!
Hannah has begun connecting with Bullhead City Parks and Recreation Division Supervisor, Janie Figueroa, and the Bullhead City Little League Baseball & Softball Board of Directors as we look for more ways to work together and create opportunities for local kids.
Her meeting with Little League came at an especially exciting time, coinciding with this week’s announcement of a national partnership between Little League and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
“I’m super excited that we are partnered up with Little League. I can’t wait to help them build up that league. We’ll be working together this offseason to run some camps to get kids ready for the leagues when they start next spring.”
And there is plenty more coming from BGCCR Athletics!
🏀 **Basketball signups begin September 7**
🏈 **Flag Football arrives in January**
🏐 **Volleyball begins in March**
BGCCR CEO Dave Heath says Hannah brings exactly the kind of leadership and enthusiasm the Club wants for its athletic programs:
“Hannah is going to be a big asset to this organization. She connects well with kids and parents, she is filled with great ideas, and she really knows sports.”
Athletics at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River is about more than wins and losses. It’s about teamwork, confidence, friendships, healthy competition, and giving kids experiences they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.
Hannah knows that firsthand — because she was one of those kids.
Now she gets to create those experiences for the next generation.
Welcome home, Hannah! We can’t wait to see what’s next.
