Traveling with IBD can bring a worry many people don't talk about: needing a restroom, fast. ✈️🚻

Our Chief Education, Support and Advocacy Officer, Laura Wingate, spoke with USA TODAY about how people with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis can plan ahead and travel with more confidence.

Her tips include:
✅ Pack medications, supplies, and snacks you tolerate well in your carry-on
✅ Arrive early so you can find restrooms without rushing
✅ Let flight attendants know you may need to use the restroom even when the seatbelt sign is on, as long as it's safe

💛 Meet our 2026 Rile Family Youth Ambassador of Hope: Will Stuedemann! 💛

Will and his family have been an incredible part of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation family here in the Twin Cities since Will was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at just 5 years old.

From participating in every Take Steps Walk since his diagnosis, to being part of our Pediatric Family Support Group, attending the Evening of Hope Gala, and serving as a Youth Ambassador, Will has continued to show up, share his story and inspire others in the IBD community.

We are so proud to celebrate Will and recognize the impact he has already made as this year’s Rile Family Youth Ambassador of Hope! ✨

💛 Meet Sarah Adams-Ortiz, our new Manager of Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Development! 💛

We are thrilled to officially welcome Sarah to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation team!

Sarah is no stranger to our Foundation family. She and her daughter, Ava, both live with IBD, and their family has been part of the Foundation through the Evening of Hope Gala. We’re excited that Sarah is now taking the next step in her journey with the Foundation by officially representing the organization she cares so deeply about.

In her new role, Sarah will help lead our fundraising campaigns and volunteer engagement, bringing her passion, personal experience and love for the IBD community to the work we do every day.

When she’s not working to make a difference for people living with IBD, Sarah and her family love all things lake life, sports, music and their pups! 🐶🏖️🎶🏀
