Dear Neighbors,
Hello! The Children’s Garden Board would like to assure you that we have been in the process of addressing the condition of the garden since spring. Our last volunteer led clean up was in fall (not that long ago!) but as you can see, the garden requires constant care and maintenance which for the past 25 years has been done solely with the help of volunteers.
Since the pandemic the Children's Garden has seen a decline in volunteer activity and despite numerous attempts to reach out for volunteers, membership, and replacing vacated board positions (due to retirement) there has been little to no response.
On a side note, hired landscape companies and gardeners are and have always been the financial responsibility of the Children's Garden. Despite the rumors and assumptions, the city does not pay for these services.
With the resurgence of interest in the garden, we would like to invite everyone who is interested in volunteering, becoming a member or joining the board to complete the Google form in this post. https://forms.gle/HVdNF9rwxJZmXhhV8
