**Significant Wind Event Tonight Into Tomorrow AM 11/5-11/6**

Wind Advisories(in light brown) and High Wind Warnings(in orange) are in place for tonight into tomorrow with the expectation of widespread wind gusts of 50 to 60MPH area wide.

These strong wind gusts may cause tree damage and power outages across the area. We expect the strongest wind gusts to channel down the Mohawk Valley of New York and into Central Massachusetts. Some areas may approach 65MPH in gusts.

**High Wind Watches Issued For Tomorrow Into Thursday**

High Wind Watches have been issued in anticipation for significant wind gusts tomorrow evening into Thursday Morning. Widespread wind gusts of 55 to 65MPH are likely in areas shaded in darker brown. These likely get upgraded to High Wind Warnings for many.

Scattered power outages and tree damage is likely. Any outdoor decorations should be brought inside and it’s a good idea to get candles and flashlights prepared along with your generators if you have them. It’ll be bumpy!

*Significant Wind Event Tomorrow Night*

Good morning! Our active weather pattern continues through the week with a strong storm system moving through the area tomorrow. We look to see a convective line tomorrow evening move through the area that could prompt some severe thunderstorm warnings for damaging winds.

Behind that some very strong wind gusts are likely for a several hour period with winds gusting between 50 to 65 MPH. I expect widespread Wind Advisories and High Wind Warnings to be issued for these wind gusts. High Wind Watches are already in effect across Southern New England and I expect to see more issued later today!

Below is a map of forecasted wind gusts from one of our hires models we use and it’s showing very intense wind gusts. While I don’t expect winds as intense as that, it does appear there will be a lot of 50-65MPH gusts area wide!

Winter may be off to a fast start this year with signals of both lake effect snow and possibly widespread snow on the horizon. Nothing is set in stone yet but it is looking increasingly likely we will be seeing snow on a more widespread basis!

11/02/2025

Moving through November is our transition month where we see a battle of fleeting warmth and building up colder air. This November looks no different, looking ahead we do see signals of lake effect snow starting to show and the potential for widespread snowfall, especially late month.

Our Winter forecast based on what is building and ongoing looks strong. If you like more of a traditional Winter, you’ll be very happy when it rounds out.

Hurricane Melissa has strengthened into a Category 5 Hurricane this morning south of Jamaica and will begin her turn North today. This will likely be the worst hurricane to ever hit the island, topping Gilbert in 1988.

Feet of rain and winds gusting over 150mph will devastate the islands infrastructure. Long term power outages are likely with widespread severe flooding.

Godspeed with the island and its folks.
