Congratulations to the North Colonie students who were chosen to perform in the 2026 District Recital that took place last Wednesday, May 27th at Shaker Middle School. The audience loved your performances and your parents were so proud….bravo! NCFOM was delighted to sponsor a reception for the musicians and their fans afterwards. Thanks to Mrs. Melissa Veino, North Colonie Board Member and our outstanding NCFOM hospitality chair for another fantastic event. We are so grateful for you!

NYSSMA Major Organization Festivals were held the past two weeks at area high schools. Congratulations to the Shaker Music groups on their successful results at the festivals! Mrs. Kimbler’s 11/12 Chorus- Gold with Distinction; Mrs. Justensen’s 9/10 Chorus- Gold with Distinction; Mrs. Slater-Suzuki’s Treble Makers- Gold with Distinction; Mr. Lewis’ 8th grade orchestra- Gold with Distinction; Ms. Baldwin’s 11/12 Band NYSSMA clinic performance; Mr. Suzuki’s Wind Ensemble- Silver. So proud of all of these wonderful teachers and musicians!

Congrats to the three students from North Colonie who were selected to participate in NYSBDA statewide honor band back in early March! Faris Ahmed (trumpet), Samantha Dudar (tuba) and Ryan Han (horn) had a wonderful weekend playing in the band which was comprised of the best band students across New York State. NCFOM was proud to sponsor them! Congrats also to their wonderful teachers, Mr. Jared Banker and Mr. Omar Williams. 🎵

String Fest 2026 was a smashing success! Fantastic job to both our student performers in Counterpoint and grades 5 and 8 orchestra and the North Colonie string teachers! Special thank you to Mrs. Veino for organizing the NCFOM reception afterwards so everyone could celebrate together after the concert.
