Applications for the Alex Bush Memorial Goalie Scholarship close August 15, 2026.

The Jake Kielbs Hockey Foundation created this scholarship to honor Alex Bush and his love for hockey and the goalie position.

This scholarship is available to current youth goalies who need assistance with goalie equipment, as well as young players who dream of becoming a goalie but need help obtaining the specialized gear required to get started.

If you know a young athlete who could benefit, please don’t wait — the deadline is only three days away.

Our Community Gear Drive is back!

This event is not just for donations — it’s for the community to come grab hockey gear free of cost. If your family needs gear, we welcome you. If you have new or gently used hockey equipment to donate, we’d love that too.

A generous family donated this set of used goalie equipment to the foundation, and we would love to pass it along at no cost to a family with a current goalie—or a player who wants to give goaltending a try!

The set includes:

* Bauer junior large chest protector
* Bauer junior 30+1 leg pads
* Bauer junior blocker
* Bauer catcher — size unknown
* Bauer Elite skates — size 5.5, Fit 2
* True goalie stick — size unknown

The equipment is used and shows normal wear but still has plenty of hockey left in it!

Please message us if your child could use this gear. We would especially love to help an aspiring goalie get started without the huge expense of purchasing an entire set. 💙🏒

The Jake Kielbs Hockey Foundation is proud to announce that applications are now open for the Alex Bush Memorial Goalie Scholarship.

Alex Bush had a passion for hockey and loved playing goalie. Through this scholarship, our mission is to keep Alex’s memory alive by giving young athletes the opportunity to experience the position he loved so much.

The scholarship is designed to assist current youth goalies who need goalie equipment or players who dream of becoming a goalie but need help obtaining the specialized equipment required to get started.
