🌱 Advancing Sustainability in Las Vegas
As CES 2026 kicks off in Las Vegas, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced $125,000 in Green Grants to support two key City of Las Vegas Government sustainability projects—urban tree planting and energy-efficient streetlight upgrades. The funding reinforces CTA’s long-standing commitment to environmental innovation and to giving back to the community that hosts CES each year.
The grants, announced alongside Shelley Berkley and CTA CEO Gary Shapiro and President Kinsey Fabrizio, will support the city’s goal of planting 60,000 trees to reduce urban heat and expand shade, while also accelerating the transition to low-energy LED streetlights that improve safety and significantly reduce power consumption. Together, the projects reflect a practical, forward-thinking approach to long-term resilience and smart growth.
The funding will be administered through the Mayor’s Fund for Las Vegas LIFE, ensuring transparency, accountability, and measurable community impact. Mayor’s Fund CEO Sallie Doebler and advisory committee member Tom Thomas joined city and CTA leaders for the announcement, underscoring the importance of strong public-private partnerships in turning innovation into lasting results for residents.
Since its launch, CTA’s Green Grants Program has invested nearly $1 million in Southern Nevada sustainability initiatives. As CES 2026 highlights the role of technology in building more resilient communities, these projects demonstrate how global innovation can deliver real, local benefits.
