A community member recently stepped up and donated a server and hard drives to The Lao Legacy Project.

Earlier this year, leadership had to make the tough call to shut down several accounts because of ongoing costs. That decision set us back and left our IT operations thinner than we wanted. This donation changes that. It gives us the ability to better secure our data and strengthen the systems that keep the organization running.

It takes people with good hearts and real belief in the work to show up like this — whether through a donation of equipment, money, or time. What may feel small on the surface is meaningful to us. We are grateful for every form of support our community offers.

This remains a massive project. It will take all hands on deck.

If you have skills to offer and want to volunteer, please sign up at:

thelaolegacyproject.org

(We’re looking for talent in videography, marketing, content creators, influencers, grant proposals, admin, IT, etc. we will take it all)

Thank you to the donor, and thank you to everyone who continues to walk with us.

Hey everyone,
Thank you for continuing to support The Lao Legacy Project. Whether you’ve donated, volunteered, shared our posts, or simply followed along — it truly means a lot.

Over the past couple of months we’ve been quieter than usual. Life got full. We welcomed our third child, dealt with some health challenges in the family, finished up school, and navigated a big career shift. At the same time, several of us on the team were carrying a lot. Instead of forcing things forward, we took a step back to reset and get clear on what matters most. That time helped us realign.

We’re returning to our roots as a small, community-based group focused on connection, culture, and building real relationships. Moving forward, our main focus will be:

• Family-style gatherings and team hangouts
• Social media and podcast content that celebrates being Lao

All of our current programs will keep going, but each one will grow at its own pace based on community interest and energy. We’re not going to force growth — we’ll let things develop naturally.
A few quick updates:

Podcast
We fell short of our goal of one podcast episode a month. But This is still a top priority. We’re adjusting to a more realistic schedule and plan to pick up steadier production around September/October. We’ll keep creating content in the meantime.

Dance
Instead of running it as a separate program, we’ll start weaving dance into our group gatherings as a natural way to celebrate our culture together.

Outreach
We are also still going to expand our outreach program. We will release more information in the coming weeks after some administrative processes.

For now, the plan is simple: keep showing up for each other, celebrate our culture, and build steadily. As more volunteers and support come in, we’ll grow from there.

Thank you again for being part of this. You make this work possible.
If you have ideas, questions, or just want to get involved, feel free to reach out anytime.

With appreciation,

So much pride. So much unity. So many smiles. The LNY parade was something remarkable to witness.

Can you tell us in the comments why they walk around the temple? What does it symbolize?
