This summer, our Advisory Council came together for our annual retreat ...and it was one for the books.

Our Advisory Council is made up of community leaders, corporate partners, and advocates who give their time and connections to help us serve veterans across Southern Nevada. At this year's retreat, we welcomed three new members to the council and spent the morning thinking strategically about how to grow our impact, strengthen our partnerships, and support veterans in our community.

We are grateful for each and every one of them. Their dedication to the mission of U.S.VETS Las Vegas makes a real difference for the veterans and families we serve every day.

Sponsored by L1FE Organization, this weekly class at U.S. VETS Las Vegas provides veterans with a welcoming space to reduce stress, improve focus, and support their overall well-being through movement and mindfulness.

Every Wednesday from 2:00–3:00 PM, participants of all experience levels are invited to build strength, find balance, and connect through yoga in a supportive environment.

Watch for feelings of hopelessness or isolation, thoughts of death or self-harm, sudden changes in mood or sleep, loss of interest in things once enjoyed, increased use of alcohol or drugs, or trouble managing daily responsibilities. Seventeen veterans lose their lives to su***de every day.

Veterans between 18 and 34 face an even higher risk.

The Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Su***de Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP) is a VA-funded initiative that helps U.S.VETS Las Vegas reach veterans facing crisis, isolation, or hopelessness before it is too late.
