Scouting 77

We started the year off with a family camping trip to our beautiful Mount Charleston. So much fun and learning went into this trip.
*Some scouts learned how to use sharp tools like axes to make kindling for our camp fire
*while others learned about fire safety and how to start a campfire 🔥
*Saturday we all explored the outdoors with a map and compass hike for the troop and the pack got to earn their junior ranger badges at the visitors center and a hike!!
*our troop patrols worked together practicing team work by cooking and cleaning up together.
*Even though the wind was strong at night we had fun singing together, doing skits and enjoying nature.

Troop 77 of Las Vegas is proud to expand the spirit of Scouting beyond our local community by supporting Chipukizi Troop in Kenya, Africa. Through this meaningful partnership, we are helping provide essential supplies such as tents to support their outdoor program and growth.

This connection is especially close to our hearts, as our Girl Troop Scoutmaster has built personal relationships with the troop through mission trips to Kenya every two years. Her firsthand experiences have given us a deeper understanding of the impact this support can make.

During our leaders IOLS training, we were reminded that Scouting is truly a global movement - something that deeply resonated with our troop. Inspired by that message, we are excited to stand alongside our fellow Scouts across the world.

Fun fact: Scouting founder Sir Robert Baden-Powell is buried in Kenya, making this connection even more special as we honor the global legacy of Scouting.
